Healthreats’ partners have met in Barcelona for the third PMB.

On May 13 the 3rd meeting of HEALTHREATS Project Management Board has been hosted by the Departament de Salut of Generalitat de Catalunya in Barcelona, after a preparatory meeting held on May 12. Representatives of the partners, the project coordinator Dr. Carmelo Scarcella, and the PHEA project officer Ms. Ann Thuvander were present to exchange information on the results achieved during the first year, discuss the status of advancement of the project work packages and plan next activities.

HEALTHREATS activities carried out in the first year and presented in detailed reports by the work package leaders include:

• planning, setup and start of the project-long tasks of management (WP1), dissemination (WP2), evaluation (WP3), and training (WP8);
• the development of a state-of-the-art analysis in the fields of crisis management, of national and international regulations and standards regarding the influenza pandemic preparedness planning, and of decision support system for emergency management with specific attention to the health area (WP4);
• the first phase of requirements specification (WP5) for the PDT (Process-Decision Support-Training) package which will represent the main project result. Requirements specification will provide the basis for the activities of organizational reengineering (WP6) and decision support system design and implementation (WP7).

The final part of the meeting has been devoted to a training session held by prof. Umberto Gelatti on "Crisis & Crisis management: a Healthreats perspective".

Next HEALTHREATS Project Management Board meeting will be held in Ljubljana in December.
