Hospital Organisation of the “Spedali Civili” of Brescia

The “Spedali Civili”, which has always been the Hospital of the city of Brescia, is today a highly specialised hospital of national importance; apart from the fundamental duties of helping others, there have been added teaching activities and clinical research as a result of the convention with the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Brescia.

Today, the “Spedali Civili” are a “Hospital Organisation”, consisting of:

• the “Spedali Civili” of Brescia
• the Children’s Hospital
• the Hospital of Montichiari
• the Hospital of Gardone VT
• the Centre for Cardiological Rehabilitation at Fasano del Garda
• the Mental Health Department
• the provincial general surgeries

The Organisation serves around a million inhabitants, with a high percentage of patients coming from other regions, especially for the high specialisation and the intensive therapies.
