Conference: Health Threats in the European Union
The conference intends to face the issue of health threats in Europe, through the presentation of the results achieved at the end of a three year work in Project Healthreats.
Given the importance conferred by the Executive Agency for Health and Consumers to the issue, the Conference becomes an opportunity to present to the international community other European projects in order to deepen and explain what other work frames were developed in Europe in terms of health threats.

Conference on "Pandemic Flu" - Milan, April 30, 2010
On 30th April 2010 a congress was held in one of the public halls at the Department of Medicine and Surgery at the University of Milano to evaluate the preventive strategies used against the recent A/H1N1v pandemic.
The congress was organized by the postgraduate School of Public Health of the University of Brescia, Milan and Pavia, the Italian Public Health Society and Healthreats.

Healthreats’ partners have met in Matosinhos for the sixth PMB
The main objective and relevance of this meeting was to assess and finalize the ongoing preparatory work at each project site, aimed at welcoming and instantiating the HEALTHREATS PDT package and its "D" (DSS) part and to develop a suitable scenario for the localization and testing of the HEALTHREATS approach, methodology, procedures and DSS system.

Healthreats at the Workshop on Generic Preparedness Planning (GPP)
The HEALTHREATS project has taken part to the Workshop on Generic Preparedness Planning (GPP) projects funded under the Health programme 2003-2008, organized by the Executive Agency for Health and Consumers (EAHC) on behalf of Directorate General for Health and Consumers (DG SANCO) of the European Commission.

Healthreats’ partners have met in Bucharest for the fifth PMB.
On 8-9 May 2009 the 5rd meeting of HEALTHREATS Project Management Board has been hosted by the Palace of Parliament in Bucharest.

Healthreats’ partners have met in Ljubljana for the fourth PMB.
For the 4th Project Management Board (PMB4) of the Healthreats project, the Consortium met on 5th December 2008 in Ljubljana (Slovenia), hosted by the Josef Stefan Institute.

Healthreats’ partners have met in Barcelona for the third PMB.
The 3rd meeting of HEALTHREATS Project Management Board has been hosted by the Departament de Salut of Generalitat de Catalunya in Barcelona, after a preparatory meeting held on May 12.
Representatives of the partners, the project coordinator Dr. Carmelo Scarcella, and the PHEA project officer Ms. Ann Thuvander were present to exchange information on the results achieved during the first year, discuss the status of advancement of the project work packages and plan next activities.

Healthreats’ partners have met in Matosinhos for the second PMB.
The meeting’s objective was the monitoring of the undertaken actions in six months of work.
During the meeting the partners introduced the activities and proposed solutions to the emerged criticalities.
The partners defined the next steps that will assess in the third PMB previewed for May 2008 in Barcelona.

Healthreats project kick-off in Brescia, Italy
Healthreats members met today in Brescia with PHEA representatives to focus Healthreats objectives and deliverables.
«The project we are introducing today - says Carmelo Scarcella (ASL Brescia) - has great relevance for ASL di Brescia which has long time activities bound to make the response for health emergencies coordinate and effective. With this vision in mind we started, more than one year ago, to build a team of companies, institutions, researchers, and international experts that originated the HEALTHREATS consortium.
The result is an organic, structured project approved by the European Commission. The Commission - that manages funds for Public Health programs through its Public Health Executive Agency (PHEA) - selected the Healthreats project in the second half of 2006 to be eligible for co-founding.»
