The conference intends to face the issue of health threats in Europe, through the presentation of the results achieved at the end of a three year work in Project Healthreats.

HEALTHREATS is a project sponsored by ASL Brescia, developed from 2007 to 2010, together with a group of national and international partners and funded by the European Commission under the Public Health Programme.

HEALTHREATS has set as its objective the development of integrated solutions aimed at increasing the capacity of European health care institutions to respond in an efficient and coordinated manner to health threats. The results achieved will be presented at the International Conference, through the description of a package that includes Processes for crisis management, an innovative Decision Support System for health managers who face threats and crisis and a learning program to promote training of personnel involved in crisis management.

The package has been tested in Italy, Slovenia, Romania and Spain.

Given the importance conferred by the Executive Agency for Health and Consumers to the issue, the Conference becomes an opportunity to present to the international community other European projects in order to deepen and explain what other work frames were developed in Europe in terms of health threats.
